The main function of an MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) is as follows:
1. Overload protection: When the current in the circuit exceeds the rated current of the MCB for a certain period of time, the MCB will automatically trip and cut off the circuit to prevent damage to electrical equipment or the occurrence of fire due to overload. For example, in household electricity usage, if multiple high-power electrical appliances are running simultaneously, the current may exceed the carrying capacity of the line. At this time, the MCB will act in time to protect the line and electrical appliances.
2. Short-circuit protection: When a short-circuit fault occurs in the circuit, an extremely large current will be generated instantaneously. The MCB can quickly detect this abnormal current and trip within a very short time to cut off the circuit to prevent the short-circuit current from causing serious damage to electrical equipment and lines.
