What is PID?

PID means potential induced attenuation, also known as Potential Induced Degradation, is a phenomenon that can occur in photovoltaic (PV) modules. Effect: The direct harm of PID is that a large amount of charge accumulates on the surface of the battery cell, which deteriorates the passivation effect of the battery surface, leading to a decrease in the filling factor, open circuit voltage, short circuit current of the battery cell, and power attenuation of the battery module. Currently the Solax inverter does not support this function, but we can provide external PID box to support this function.
