What is the RC Fault?

The RC Fault (Residual Current Over Current Protection Fault) indicates excessive current leakage or a sudden increase of 30mA or more in the residual current. It is a general alarm related to the inverter’s safety protection mechanism.

Possible Causes

1. Residual Current Over-Current: The on-grid residual current exceeds the threshold set by the safety code.
2. RC Detection Device Abnormality: There may be an offset anomaly in the RC detection device.

How to Solve It

1. Check Error Frequency and PE Wire:
   • If the error occurs occasionally, inspect the PE (Protective Earth) wire to ensure it is properly connected and not damaged.
2. Reboot the Inverter:
   • Shut off the DC breaker and the AC breaker.
   • Unplug and replug the PV and DC terminals.
   • Turn on the breakers again.
3. Firmware Upgrade:
   • Perform a firmware upgrade on the inverter.
4. Contact SolaX Technical Support:
   • If the problem persists, contact SolaX After-sales support with the following information:
     • Serial Number (SN)
     • Inverter status
     • Grid status
     • Time period of the day when the alarm happens
     • PV and AC voltage and current values
